Mitten Boards – Handcrafted in the USA by Brae & Heather

These traditional mitten boards are designed to help properly block and dry hand-knit mittens so they keep their intended shape and size. Used after washing, mitten boards allow knitters to gently stretch and shape mittens while they dry, helping stitches settle evenly and ensuring a consistent fit between pairs.

Each board is handcrafted in the United States by Amish woodworkers using carefully selected hardwoods known for their strength and stability. The smooth surface allows mittens to be easily pulled into shape without snagging delicate wool fibers, making them a practical tool for caring for handmade garments.

Available in seasoned cherry or hard maple, each pair highlights the natural beauty of solid hardwood while providing a durable, long-lasting tool for knitters. Mitten boards are especially useful for traditional wool mittens, helping maintain crisp shaping through the cuff, palm, and thumb while drying.

Note: The natural color of seasoned cherry wood makes it particularly suitable for blocking darker garments. While unlikely, cherry may transfer a small amount of color to very light fabrics, so caution is recommended when blocking light-colored items. Hard maple does not carry this concern.  Mittens not included.
